Another Viva has come and gone, and I have to say Im pretty depressed that its another year till the madness starts again. I had an amazing time, I partied for about a week straight with VERY little sleep but it was worth it. I've tried uploading this post like five times but blogspot seems to hate me. So here it goes :

Current Obsession: 1940s Evening Gowns.

The title is pretty self explanatory. One of my favorite movies of all time is "To The Shores of Tripoli" (1942) starring John Payne and Maureen O'Hara. In that movie, there is a military ball scene in which I got to see in color. My god, I almost died when I first saw it because I loved the ball gowns. I got a few screenshots.

Ever since Ive been super jealous of women who get to attend military balls. I envision myself going all out 40s style when and if I ever attend one. Here are some of my favorite evening gowns on Etsy.

I FINALLY got my etsy shop running. My former boss gave me alot of out leftover inventory from the store and i will be selling it over time. Im trying to list new things every weekend, and Im also throwing in some of my own stuff. Heres a peek:

Vintage Book Giveaway.

Yes I am posting my very first giveaway for all you sewing affecionados. Hmm that doesnt look like I spelled that right... Anyways! I am giving away a vintage sewing book from 1954 by Simplicity. I bought this book off of etsy and thought I would use it but I never did. Its full of great tips and a couple of how-tos but alas, I don't understand sewing jargon.
